Balancing Hustle, Health, and Skincare – My Go-To Daily Rituals

Small rituals =big shifts

Life doesn’t slow down just because your skin is breaking out or your body feels drained. I had to learn — sometimes the hard way — how to take care of myself while still chasing goals. Between hectic trading days, late nights, and skipping meals, I found myself burnt out, breaking out, and barely functioning.

But I didn’t give up — I just changed how I moved.

Here’s how I’m now balancing the hustle with my health and skincare. It’s not perfect, but it’s real. And it works for me.

The Hustle That Wrecked My Skin

When I was working around the clock, I didn’t realize how much it was showing on my face. Breakouts, dullness, and dry patches became my new normal. I’d wake up exhausted, skip breakfast, forget sunscreen, and dive straight into my charts or emails.

Stress? Through the roof. Water? Barely. Skincare? Non-existent.

It got so bad that I had to take a break and start fresh.

Wellness Isn’t a Luxury — It’s Survival

I used to think I had to earn rest. Now? I make it part of my routine. I started small:

  • A glass of lemon water before anything else
  • Morning stretches — even 3 minutes counts
  • Limiting caffeine when I’m anxious
  • Eating real meals, not just bread and coffee

These little changes helped regulate my hormones and improve my mood (and my skin started thanking me for it too).

My Simple Skincare for Chaotic Days

No 12-step routine here. I needed something quick, consistent, and budget-friendly.

Here’s what I stick to daily:

  • Gentle cleanser (currently using Garnier or No Name from Clicks)
  • Niacinamide serum for oil control & brightening
  • Light moisturizer (Pond’s or Nivea)
  • Sunscreen — the non-negotiable (I use the Garnier SPF30)

Even on tough days, I try not to skip cleansing and SPF.

Structure = Sanity

Now, I plan my days with myself in mind. Here’s what a realistic balanced day looks like:

  • 06:30 – Wake up, water + lemon
  • 07:00 – 5-minute stretch, quick wash & SPF
  • 08:00–14:00 – Trading, tasks, client work
  • 14:30 – Lunch, phone off
  • Evening – Light walk, journaling, no screens before bed

I don’t always stick to it, but having structure helps me feel less scattered.

Real Talk: What Changed

  • My breakouts reduced
  • My energy is way more stable
  • I’m less reactive emotionally
  • I actually feel proud of myself — even if I don’t “hustle” all day

This isn’t a glow-up for Instagram — it’s for me. And if you’re where I was, overwhelmed and exhausted, please know you don’t have to choose between success and self-care. You’re allowed to make space for both.
